Q: How long does it take to have a piece of chalkware repaired?
A: It normally only takes about one week or less for repairing one item.
Q: Can I buy Bossons’ missing hanging tags, boxes, mounting rings, etc.
A: Yes, although the supply is very limited.
Q: How do I pay for a restoration?
A: An invoice will be included with the returned chalkware, due within 15 days of receipt. You may pay by a personal check, by money order, cashiers check or Pay Pal.
Q: How do I pack an item for sending?
A: It is recommended that you cover each item with bubble wrap or crumpled paper and put in a sturdy box filled with Styrofoam peanuts or shredded paper. If you have broken pieces, no matter how small, please include these in the packing also. These small pieces do not have to be included for repair, but they make the repairs easier. Seal package and write fragile on the package and it should be received safely.
Q: Do I need to insure my package when sending?
A: This is a judgment call in most cases. The more expensive items and items made of ceramic probably should be. Items of lesser value can usually be repaired in addition to the original damage and returned repaired faster than if an insurance claim is made. Also, the Post Office will usually keep the broken item in return for the insurance claim.
Q: Should I mail the chalkware priority or regular mail?
A: Some chalkware is very heavy, (this means it can be very expensive for postage) so unless you are in a hurry, it is recommended that you send a heavy item or multiple items by regular mail. It usually only takes about 7-10 days to be received this way.
